Product details

This external barometric sensor gives a compatible AiM Taipan ECU continuous atmospheric-pressure input so the appropriate C3 Mountain Map can update fuel correction as elevation changes during a ride. It is intended for mountain riders who regularly gain or lose substantial elevation between startup and the end of a climb.

Manufacturer: C3 Powersports

Why it matters

Without the external sensor, barometric correction depends on readings taken during startup or qualifying idle conditions. A bike that begins at the trailhead and climbs without another suitable reading can continue using information from a lower elevation. The external sensor supplies real-time pressure data, removing the need to rely on periodic stops or restarts solely to refresh that input.

Compatibility

This sensor is for an AiM Taipan ECU running compatible C3 Mountain Map firmware. It is not a universal add-on for stock or unrelated aftermarket ECUs. Some Taipan units purchased before January 2024 may require a firmware update before the real-time sensor can operate. That update may require an AiM UC User Bridge, access to one, or ECU service through C3 or Moto365.

Installation and setup

Confirm the ECU, map, firmware, and motorcycle application before ordering. Install the sensor and connection hardware according to the Taipan and C3 instructions, then verify that the ECU recognizes the pressure input before relying on automatic elevation compensation. Contact Moto365 if the ECU’s firmware history or map compatibility is uncertain.
