Product details
The AiM Taipan Handlebar Switch 2 puts supported ECU functions at the rider’s controls. It can provide direct access to installed maps and available fuel-trim or rider-aid settings without connecting a computer each time.
Manufacturer: AiM Sportline
Why it matters
For compatible Taipan installations, the switch can cycle through all five installed maps and apply supported low-, mid-, and high-rpm fuel corrections while testing or adapting the setup. It can also control available launch-control and traction-control functions. When configured through a UC User Bridge, the indicator can be used as a programmable shift light.
Controls and compatibility
The lower button changes the active function and the upper button cycles through that function’s available choices, with the indicator lights showing the current selection. The exact functions depend on the motorcycle and ECU configuration. Some motorcycles do not support every feature, and some Honda stock controls already provide broader map selection than other OEM switches.
What’s included and installation
The kit supplies the Taipan handlebar switch and its connection lead. A compatible AiM Taipan ECU is required; the UC User Bridge is needed for supported computer-based configuration such as changing fuel-trim step size or programming shift indication. Mount the control securely, route the wire away from steering pinch points, heat, and sharp edges, and connect it as described in the AiM manual. Select only the configuration offered above and verify feature support before relying on a specific function. Highly modified engines should be calibrated and checked by an experienced tuner.
